When my cats aren't happy, I'm not happy. Not because I care about their mood but because I know they're just sitting there thinking up ways to get even. I'm giving you another chance to get a pencil sketch of your pet!Hi Everyone! I'm back with another random draw in time for Easter! I personally had loads of fun reading all the comments last time. This really has the added benefit for me as I get to practice my speed art, pencil skills AND get to sketch gorgeous pets while I'm at it!! Very enjoyable exercise. So if you weren't with us last time and you are now asking how you can join in? By simply posting an answer to the question bellow. The winner will be draw at random out of a hat on 2nd of April! So make sure you tell all your friends, if I continue to get enough support I will make this a regular thing. Just a small note if you win and would like the original sketch, then I ask that you cover postage (if not I'll send you a hi res digital copy). Okay! Now my question is: "What's in a name?" Did you name your pet, or was it already named? And how well do you think that name suit him/her? Optional question: "what's the meaning of your pet's name?" UPDATED BONUS: Sign up for my newsletter and get an additional entry!! So for example: Cygnet was originally named Starlight (she has a little snip on her nose that looks just like a star). But I decided on the same day she arrived that she needed a new name to go with a new home. So she became Cygnet- named with the Cygnus Constellation in mind, and she is slowly becoming a swan =) Grace was a little more difficult to find a name for, we tried out soooo many but none seemed to fit her very well, and she was nameless for over a month before I realized that she was and is Grace. While both Donna and Ruby already had their names which suite them very well. Did you know that the meaning of Donna in Italian is Lady? And Ruby goes with out saying, our little social butterfly is a total gem! Have fun! Siobhan xx

I named my Waler mare Seraphina on the day she was born 20 years ago. It was Christmas Day, she is named for the Seraphim. Initially the name did not suit as she was far from angelic - but today she has grown into her name, being one of the sweetest horses I know, and deserving of such a pretty name.

Cody- my horse came with his name, all the progeny of his sire are named after alcoholic beverages ie. Codys bourbon & cola. I've always nicknamed him the toad so his 'show' name became squire toad because he thinks he's a bit of all right 😉

My cat came from the SPCA, she had been named by them but I wanted her to have a new name to go with her new life 😊 It took me quite some time to come up with a name for her. My neighbour calls her Mischief but her real name (from me) is Smiggle. She has lots of nicknames her current one is Pickle 😘

My guinnea fowl's name is Roger Nelson. I don't know why, he just sent me the thought message when I asked him what is name is upon our first meeting. Roger Nelson has a serious, almost angered looking brow, but he's actually the better natured of my small flock of dinosaurs. If I asked him what his real name is and he answered out loud, it would be KAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAA!!! (turned up to 11)

I got my little kelpie pup when she was only about 5 weeks old. When I went to look at the pups she was hiding under a cupboard in the backyard. She was the first one I pulled out and picked up and it was love at first sight! The first thing I did when I got home was give her a bath as she was covered in red dirt. Her name immediately became ‘Dusty’ and I can’t imagine her being called anything else. As we live in Central Australia she continues to have a dusty coat covered in red dirt!!

My horses name is Mae sgotened version of name after foundation member of the stud she is bred from. Her showname is Samsara the circle of life. I came home after 12 years and felt the circle phase was completing. The horse is very sensitive and reflects where I'm at.

The cat that graces me with her presence (especially at meal/snack/oh you need to feed me more times) I call Kitt aka Mae West or Kitt McClaws…. She who has chosen to live at my little shop and is yet to trust me 100% (watch this space). I tried several names for her, but none seemed to be the 'right' one (I could tell by the range of looks & body language from 'hmm, you have to be kidding to absolutely ignoring me' we called a truce with Kitt!

My first dog was a light colored pit bull, I was five when I got him and my favorite movie at the time was The Lion King, and Simba was my favorite character, Simba as a cub reminded me of him so the name fit pretty well.

I find a lot of meaning in a name, eg, I ran into someone who called their rabbit Bunsy. Now, that instantly makes me think they are unimaginative... go figure, judge that book by its cover, eh? But I can't help it.... A nice name makes everyone, pet or human.

This is for Kerry's cat Boudicea (Booudi), I can remember they day Kerry named her, 18 years ago. She was regal enough to carry the name and many a mouse has falling in her campaigning for a mouse-free home. She took her final walk over the rainbow bridge last week, and was as regal as ever in her passing. xx
